This is Annabel, a lovely cat my wife and I are fostering since July. She lost her home some months ago and was rescued by HART, she was living in a kennel for several weeks before my wife brought her here.
In the beginning Annabell was really shy, but she was not scared to explore our apartment and actually felt comfortable, even interacting from the distance with Nina.
I was not used to have cats, and I was expecting they were like dogs, wanting to be picked up or be pet. Cats are independent, and they actually allow you to pet them when they want, not when you want to.
Annabell has been getting confident with the time, and lately she’s calling the attention more often, looking to be pet and wanting to play. She’s also accepting Nina more open, and there are times where they sit together and smell to each other like natural friends. This tells a lot about her personality, she is just a really cool cat, she is not aggressive at all and she is actually a very cute cat behind a grumpy face.
Although we already love her, we really want her to find a new home, so she brings love to a new family and we can help other rescued cats to stay on a temporary home, warm and cozy, instead of a cold, dark and small kennel in a shelter.
We strongly recommend adopting a pet, some of these lovely creatures have been rescued from horrible environments, and they are so grateful that they just want to give and receive love.
I took these photos with a 50mm lens, using big apertures (short f numbers) to reduce the depth of field and separate the subject from the background.
